Just like some diseases sin is a condition that can be spread from one person to another if one is not strong (immune) enough to battle out the viruses.
A disease has a causative factor, we find that a disease like Malaria has a causative factor which is Plasmodium parasite, report malaria cases are approximately 216 million cases all over the world, wooh! This fact makes me feel like a medical expert..a good biology student I was huh! anyway….enough said of the causal factors of diseases, let’s get to the real disease that kills many every single second that passes.
Sin just like any other disease sin has its causal factor and that is evil desire, The Bible says…. God does not tempt us but because of our evil desires, we fall into temptation. Evil desire is brought about when we develop a sense of lust (spiritual idolatry) in us, and we start living in sinful nature,
Romans 8:5a tells us that…Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; when lust gets in one’s thoughts it eats up that positive mind building lustful motion pictures that run inside us giving one a strong urge to lust on things that make us go against the will of God.
Diseases cause suffering and pain in our lives, the same way when we sin we live a painful life full of suffering and regrets since we are separated from our creator, sin is the only thing that separates us from the love of God, and the only that makes us fall short of his glory.(Romans 3:23)
Causal organisms spiritually can easily be identified when one starts avoiding the truth of the word and living contrary to the Holy Bible, being conformed to the standard of this world, the standards of this are set to deprive us the opportunity to enjoy the glory of God in the eternal life that’s is coming, just as what happens to us when we are affected by a particular disease.
When in its extreme a disease can cause death, sin has an endpoint too when it is in its extreme and that is a price of death, in his letter to the church of Rome Paul says that “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal in Christ Jesus our LORD.
But not all hope is lost, sin can be treated and forgiven, Jesus Christ was sent into the world not to condemn it but to save it, he died on the cross so that we may not perish but Have eternal (John 3:16).
Accepting that one is affected by this disease called sin is a starting pointing, denying the world and its desires and denouncing the devil and his wicked plans create a place for Jesus in our lives.
Say no sin, allow the spirit of God to dwell in us and his glory will be filled back in our lives and we will be completely healed from this disease.
